When God Intervenes by Dabney Hedegard is a memoir of her story. Only six weeks pregnant, Dabney finds out that she has Hodgkin’s disease. She is told that it would be in her best interest not to have this baby but she prays and God tells her to have the baby. While pregnant, she has a bone marrow done as well as starting chemo.
For ten years, she battles with cancer; she has the tumor removed but still faces so much. She dies not once, not twice, but four times, truly a miracle performed by none other than our gracious Lord.
During these ten years, she has a miscarriage, they adopt a baby girl from China, she gets pregnant again and has a son, and then she finds out she is pregnant again and this time she is able to have a normal pregnancy. But after she is released from the hospital, she is admitted back and finds out that she has Mitral Valve Prolapse. None of these things stops her. She still possesses the faith of a mustard seed. She never gives up that God is by her side and is protecting her. Miraculously, she is alive because of one reason; God is not finished with her yet.
Wonderful story of faith and trust and the power of prayer, I truly recommend this book for your reading pleasure. You definitely will not be let down; it definitely makes me thankful for what God has done for me in my life.
I received a copy of this book from Tyndale for my honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.
