As a woman all we want is to be loved, to be cared for, to be called someone special. How many times do we search for this love in all the wrong places? In Spoken For: Embracing Who You Are and Whose You Are, Ms. Gunn and Ms. Bethke are wanting us to know that God loves us and has set forth a great romance long before the foundation of the world. We can be loved the way we long to be loved by a God who only knows love.

I really enjoyed reading Spoken For and love how the authors use scripture to help us see just how much we are loved. Ten chapters full of quotes, “You Are” statements, and questions that help us unwrap the truths that lie in the Bible. The authors also give us their romantic stories, some successful and some that didn’t work out, and how they found out that God was with them through out it all.

One thing I really enjoyed was reading how God has nicknames for us, just like we do for our spouses and siblings. For example, He has called us Chosen, Beloved, Masterpiece and Bride, and the scriptures that reference these names are listed as well. God makes it known that we are different from the ones who turned their backs to Him. The Bible is God’s love letter written to us, those who choose to follow Him and to all. It is up to us to accept this gift of love, passion that is burning deep.

I highly recommend this book to all women; you will not be disappointed in this book. Gunn and Betke does not miss the mark with this book.

Rated PG: This book is very clean for all ages, YA to Adult.
