Fatal Exchange
By: Lisa Harris
Fatal Exchange is the second book in the Southern Crimes Series written by Lisa Harris. This is the first book by Ms. Harris I have read and even though it is part of a series, it can be read as a stand-alone.
I’m not to big into suspense novels; I am one for romance, historical, modern, and etc. fiction. I have to say that this book was good and it held my attention. I definitely want to read the first book in this series.
Emily Hunt chose a different career than the rest of her family; she chose to be a schoolteacher instead of a cop. She loves making a difference in her student’s lives instead of living a life full of her adrenaline pumping. But everything is about to change in her life and is Emily ready for what lies ahead.
One of Emily’s students, Rafael, comes to school with a gun and takes her and the student’s hostage, demanding money for their release. Why is Rafael doing this? His younger brother has been kidnapped by the drug cartel and Rafael wants to pay the ransom.
Mason Taylor is the undercover cop who has been trying to bring this drug cartel down and has been a mentor to Rafael. Mason and Emily try to talk to Rafael to let them go. Will Rafael listen? What will happen to his brother?
I encourage you to read this book; very intriguing will keep you on the edge of your seat. I give this book 5/5 stars and guarantee you will not be disappointed.
I received this book from the publisher for my honest review.
