Rest Assured: A Recovery Plan for Weary Souls by Vicki Courtney is definitely a book written for any women who feels over-committed, over-connected, overburdened, and overwhelmed. Your life is so full but you feel your soul isn’t, this is me and so many other woman in the world. We long to feel full, to have a relationship with God like Ruth, Mary, and Esther had. Rest Assured is the book to give you that feeling.

Rest Assured is broken into two parts: Enemies of Rest: The Intervention and Redeeming Rest: The Recovery. In the first part there are four topics:

  • The Badge of Busyness
  • The Exhausting Pursuit of Happiness
  • Tethered Souls
  • Worried Sick

Four topics under the second part as well:

  • Prioritize the One Thing Needed: Time for God
  • Create Room to Breathe: Time for Solitude
  • Give Yourself a Break: Time for Leisure

Also included at the end of each chapter is a “Rest Stop” Challenge that can be used for your personal use as well as in a Bible Study or Book Club. There is also bonus material included: 30-Day Restitution Plan and 100 Ways to Give It a Rest.

Giving your weary soul an intervention is only the beginning to a having a full soul. I highly recommend Rest Assured to all women.
