About the Book
Love covers a multitude of sin.
A stolen kiss ignites a fire that burns all the way from Texas to New York City. Torn apart by war, rejection, and a letter with news she never wanted, Lacey Rose takes her shredded heart and runs. Charley figures out something isn’t right, but is duty-bound to the Confederacy until a deathbed order sets in motion a series of events that tests his love, honor, and commitment to the breaking point.
Can the two lifelong friends see past the pain to finally realize God’s plan for them to be more than just kin?
About the Author
Caryl, praying her story gives God glory, loves writing for Christian genres–historical and contemporary romance, Biblical fiction, and mid-grade especially. In 2014, Simon and Schuster debuted VOW UNBROKEN, a historical Christian romance set in 1832 Texas, and Caryl followed with three additional novels. In April, LADY LUCK’S A LOSER (contemporary, mature, inspirational romance); September’s debut, HEARTS STOLEN (set in 1839-1844), book two of her historical Christian Texas Romances–a #1 Amazon Best-seller; and in November, A LITTLE LOWER THAN THE ANGELS, volume one of her new Biblical fiction series, The Generations–also an Amazon #1 Best-seller.
In 2008, her high school sweetheart-husband Ron moved her to the woods of Red River County. Caryl counts four children and sixteen grandsugars life’s biggest blessings believing all good things come from God. Praying her story gives God glory, she hopes each one ministers His love, mercy, and grace to its readers. She and Ron live in Clarksville, Texas with two grandsons, Christian and Benjamen.

My Review:
Just Kin is Book 6 in the Texas Romance series by Caryl McAdoo. Set in historical Texas, Lacey Rose is heartbroken and torn when she receives a letter from Charley saying they are “Just Kin.” Lacey, only 16, decides to take her broken heart and run far away into trouble. The trouble that Lacey gets into is disturbing, this book does contain per-marital sex that takes place off scene. This book also shows what happens when we stray from God and decide to give in to what the enemy says. When we come back to God, there is forgiveness.
Can Charley and Lacey forgive each other and put aside what happen? Will they give in to what God has planned for their lives?
This is a good book especially if you like Christian Historical Fiction. Even though this is Book 6 in the series, it can be read as a stand alone.
Thank you to Celebrate Lit and the publisher for providing me with a copy of this book for my honest review.
