My Review:

Fear is something we all suffer from. Some fear death, some fear loosing a loved one, some fear finances, the list can go on and on. Fear can control us if we let it, it can ruin our lives causing us to shut people out of our lives but most importantly it can cause us to loose faith in God. I will be the first to say that fear is my worst enemy, fear never leaves me alone, its like that annoying person who you wish would take a hint and leave. But what if we cut the cord with Fear, what would happen? Would we feel free able to carry on a life of meaning, carry on a relationship with God, the One who loves us unconditionally?

There are ways to learn to fight fear and one of those ways is with Kelly Balarie’s new book Fear Fighting: Awakening Courage to Overcome Your Fears. When this book arrived in my mail box, I was apprehensive at first because I have tried a lot of ways to fight fear and nothing was working, but after I began reading Kelly’s story, I knew I could fight fear too. Kelly uses her own personal story along with showing women how to cultivate unstoppable faith by harnessing God’s Word and promptings, prayers to usher in a lasting peace, how to discover clear and immediate action plans, implement daily bravery decrees and participate in a 12-week study to guide that will foster new courageous habits.

Take it from someone who doesn’t feel courageous, who hates change, who lets fear walk over her, that if this book can change her life, it will change yours. Kelly’s book was a life saver for me and it is one that I will keep close by because I know Fear will rear its ugly head and I will be ready to take a stand a not let fear control me any longer.

I received a copy of this book for free, however a favorable review was not required of me and all opinions expressed are my own.

Sheila Walsh

About the Book:

Do your desires have you going around in circles? You may be looking for fulfillment in all the wrong places.

You vowed you’d never repeat the same mistakes—yet you find yourself right where you started. What is it that keeps drawing you back into the same old traps? The fact is, your longings are built from the blueprint of your needs: for protection, for love, for God. And those needs aren’t going anywhere.

Sheila speaks candidly about the trials in her life, including the heartache of her first marriage, and intertwines her story with the biblical saga of King David. As both Sheila’s and David’s stories make clear, some cravings are misguided, but they all stem from the same hunger—and they will haunt you until that hunger gets satisfied properly.

If you keep reaching out to the wrong people at the wrong times in your own life, The Longing in Me will help you understand that your cravings are not the problem. It’s where they lead you that makes all the difference.

My Review:

I first heard of Sheila Walsh 6 years ago when I first attended a Women of Faith event. When I heard her speak, I knew I had to find her books and begin reading them. She impacted my life greatly and I knew it was a God thing that I was able to go to WOF at the last moment. Since then I have read almost all of Sheila’s books and heard her speak two more times. When I first seen she was coming out with a new book, The Longing In Me, I knew I would be in for a treat. I was honored to be chosen to be on her launch team as well as be able to review this book for the publisher.

The Longing In Me is the book for any woman who is ready to make a change in their lives and let God lead you. Sheila is open and honest about the trials in her life and intertwines her story with the story of King David. This book is for those women who find themselves going in circles, making the same mistakes over and over again, and whose looking for fulfillment in all the wrong places. Sheila dives in and gives an accurate account of scripture and goes in details with the story of David.

I constantly find myself making the same mistakes over and over again and keep asking why do I this? Simply put, I’m not trusting God enough. I know I can change this with the help from a God who loves me. This book is a life changer and I highly recommend it to anyone who is ready to change. Change is hard but you don’t have to do it alone!!

Thank you to the publisher for providing me with a copy of this book for my honest, unbiased review.

A Sudden Glory!!!!

A Sudden Glory

I love reading a book by author Sharon Jaynes; she is a wonderful speaker, author and woman of God. It seems that she knows what I am going through every time I pick up one of her books. A Sudden Glory was no different, it is a must read for all woman.

Sharon uses her own personal stories and the word of God to teach us about “a glory ache.” What is a glory ache you ask? Sharon describes a glory ache as being a persistent longing to experience God’s presence on a daily basis. I know personally I feel this way a lot and this feeling leaves me thinking I’m not doing enough for God so I find more things to do but that’s not what we should be doing.

I love this quote that Sharon makes in this book, “the real question is not “What does God want from you?” but “What does God want for you?” Sharon describes a day when she is having her quiet time and God reveals this to her by revealing Acts 17:28 In Him we live, we move and have our being. Wow, is all I can say, if we truly listened for God’s voice sometimes we will see that all God wants for us is to be still and listen.

I encourage every one of you to pick a copy of A Sudden Glory up and read it, expect a change of heart and expect for her to step on your toes. I am so thankful that God has blessed Sharon Jaynes with the ability to write what He lays on her heart.

“I received this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for this review.”
