21 Days of Grace is a fiction lovers devotional filled with short stories written by some of Christian Fictions top Authors such as Angela Hunt, Deborah Rainey, Cindy Woodsmall, Cecil Murphy, Robin Bayne, and many more. The stories in 21 Days of Grace are those stories we all long to read, you know the ones that we can relate to, the ones that have similar life experiences as us. Guest Post from Kathy Ide

I’ve always loved Christian fiction, and I’ve seen the power of fiction to touch hearts and change lives, both firsthand and hearing about the experiences of others. But you know, in my quiet times with the Lord, reading a chapter from a novel just doesn’t seem quite appropriate. So a devotional with short fiction stories seemed like a great solution. And you can take these purse-sized devotionals wherever you go, to read when you have a few minutes of down time. It’s a great way to get “inspiration on the go.” And they make fantastic gifts for friends and loved ones.

The Prince Warriors and the Unseen Invasion

The Prince Warriors and the Unseen Invasion
Priscilla Shirer

About the Book:

thIn this second book in The Prince Warriors trilogy, the Prince Warriors face new challenges on earth and in the unseen realm of Ahoratos. The enemy, angry about his last defeat, is targeting them with weapons and tactics they had never imagined, including the flaming Olethron. The kids must turn to Ruwach and the Source, who can give them more pieces of armor to help them stand strong against this deadly threat.

About the Author(s):

priscillashirer2Priscilla Shirer is a homemade cinnamon-roll baker, Bible teacher, and bestselling author who didn’t know her books (The Resolution For Women and Fervent) were on The New York Times Bestseller list until somebody else told her. Because who has time to check such things while raising three rapidly growing sons? When she and Jerry, her husband of sixteen years, are not busy leading Going Beyond Ministries, they spend most of their time cleaning up after and trying to satisfy the appetites of these guys. And that is what first drove Priscilla to dream up this fictional story about the very un-fictional topic of spiritual warfare—to help raise up a new generation of Prince Warriors under her roof. And under yours.

Gina Detwiler was planning to be a teacher but switched to writing so she wouldn’t have to get up so early in the morning. She’s written a couple of books in various genres (Avalon and Hammer of God, under the name Gina Miani) and dramas published by Lillenas and DramaMinistry, but she prefers writing (and reading) books for young people. She lives in Buffalo, New York, where it snows a lot, with her husband and three beautiful daughters. She is honored and grateful to be able to work with Priscilla on The Prince Warriors.

My Review:

The Prince Warriors series has been one that my girls love. I haven’t had my daughters to beg me for a book then when the first book came out. They were fighting over who was going to read it first. When I was given the opportunity to review book 2 in The Prince Warriors series: The Prince Warriors and the Unseen Invasion, I knew I had to get it. Priscilla Shirer as outdone herself with these books, even though they are geared to boys, girls will enjoy them also. I love how these books are teaching our kids about God in a way they can understand. I absolutely am a huge fan of The Prince Warriors series and can’t wait to add the third book to my collection.

Along with book two, Priscilla has a devotional and a activity book to help them dive deeper into God’s word. If you are looking to purchase books for your children then I highly recommend getting The Price Warriors Series. You will not be disappointed and neither will your kids.

I received a copy however a favorable review was not required, All opinions expressed here are my own.

31 Verses to Write on Your Heart

31 Verses to Write on Your Heart
Liz Curtis Higgs

About the Book:

9781601428912

Here are the words of hope you’re looking for when your faith needs a boost or a friend needs encouragement. Chosen by more than a thousand women as their favorite verses in the Bible, each one is worth learning, worth sharing, worth remembering,

You’ll find verses you already know and love: “I can do all this through him who gives me strength” (Philippians 4:13). Others may be less familiar but are no less powerful: “Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe” (Proverbs 29:25). All of them capture the truth of God’s goodness, mercy, and love for His own.

Best-selling author Liz Curtis Higgs invites you to experience—

A deeper, richer understanding of thirty-one treasured verses.
A fresh look at how these timeless truths can impact your life.
A new passion for memorizing Scripture, verse by verse.
Thirty-one creative ways to keep them in your heart forever.

With a study guide included, 31 Verses to Write on Your Heart is a daily devotional and a small-group Bible study, wrapped in a lovely gift book overflowing with joy!

About the Author:

12930

Liz Curtis Higgs admits, “My goal is simple: to help women embrace the grace of God with joy and abandon!”

Her latest release, 31 Verses to Write on Your Heart, explores the favorite verses chosen by more than a thousand women. It’s Good to Be Queen encourages readers to become as bold, gracious, and wise as the queen of Sheba, who journeyed across the desert to test the mind and heart of King Solomon. Liz also offers a twenty-first century take on the book of Ruth in The Girl’s Still Got It, dishing out meat and milk, substance and style, in a highly readable, always entertaining, and deeply personal journey.

And you’ll find a heartwarming Bible study wrapped inside a beautiful gift book with The Women of Christmas. Verse by verse, Liz unwraps the biblical stories of Elizabeth, Mary, and Anna, who each welcome the Christ child into the world in a marvelous and miraculous way.

In her best-selling series of Bad Girls of the Bible books and videos, Liz breathes new life into ancient tales about the most infamous–and intriguing–women in scriptural history, from Jezebel to Mary Magdalene. Biblically sound and cutting-edge fresh, these popular titles have helped more than one million women around the world experience God’s grace anew.

Liz’s award-winning historical novels, which transport the stories of Rebekah, Leah, Rachel, Dinah, Ruth, and Naomi to eighteenth-century Scotland, also invite readers to view these familiar biblical characters in a new light.

According to Publishers Weekly, “Higgs is a stickler for period authenticity.” To that end, Liz has traveled again and again to Scotland, the setting for her novels, and has filled her shelves with one thousand resource books about Scottish history and culture.

Also a gifted professional speaker, Liz has presented more than 1,700 inspirational programs for audiences in all fifty United States and fourteen foreign countries. When the National Speakers Association honored her with the Council of Peers Award for Excellence, Liz became one of only 35 women in the world named to their CPAE-Speaker Hall of Fame.

On the personal side, Liz is married to Bill Higgs, Ph.D., who serves as Director of Operations for her speaking and writing office. Liz and Bill enjoy their old Kentucky home, a nineteenth-century farmhouse in Louisville, and are the proud (and relieved) parents of two college grads.

“I have three abiding passions: encouraging my sisters in Christ, exploring the stories of women in the Bible, and writing novels set in Scotland of old. When I’m not traveling, speaking, or spinning a story, I connect with readers online, take copious photos, read historical novels, watch period films, and immerse myself in research–the more books, the merrier. I’m a lame housekeeper, a marginal cook, and a mediocre gardener, but home is still my favorite place to land.”

My Review:

Liz Curtis Higgs is by far a great author and speaker. I have had the opportunity to hear her speak several times at Women of Faith. She doesn’t sugar coat what the Bible says and she oozes Jesus. Her newest book, 31 Verses to Write on Your Heart is by far one of my favorite books of the year. In this book, Liz gives us 31 Bible verses, verses that have been chosen my many women as their life verses. Verses about strength, honor, love, perseverance. Verses for encouragement, hope, honor. Verses that we need to hear over and over again. By memorizing these verses, we are able to have them when we need to hear them or when someone else needs to hear them.

31 Verses to Write on Your Heart can be used for a Bible study as well as a daily devotional. Included in the book is a study guide. Grab some ladies and dig into what Liz Curtis Higgs has to say and start memorizing scripture.

The Duck Commander Devotional for Couples

510adyDOb3L._SY445_QL70_The Duck Commander Devotional for Couples

Al & Lisa Robertson

We all have watched Duck Dynasty and have read some if not all of the books written by the Robertson family. The Robertson family has not been ashamed to stand up for what they believe in: family, faith and love. I admire this family for standing up for Christ on national TV and not backing down no matter the consequences.

Alan (The Beardless Brother) and his wife Lisa had a failing marriage, but with unwavering faith and the love of their family they were able to make it through the tough times. In The Duck Commander Devotional for Couples, Lisa and Alan share what they have learned. They want to bring couples closer to God and to each other. This devotional encourages the husband and wife to set aside time together each day if possible. Each devotional includes inspirational messages, relevant scriptures, thoughtful questions and prayer suggestions.

Being married for 18 years, my husband and I know how hard it has been to spend time with each other and we are always looking for something to help draw us closer to God and to each other. This devotional has been a great asset to our marriage. A marriage built on Christ is a marriage that will last, honestly look at your marriage and your relationship with God as a triangle, you and your spouse are on the bottom and God is the top, as each of you draw closer to God you will draw closer to each other.

I highly recommend this devotional to all couples.

Thank you to Howard Books for providing me a copy of this book for my honest review.

9780310320326

Unglued Devotional 60 Days of Imperfect Progress is the companion devotional to Lysa TerKeurst’s best selling book Unglued. Are you a stuffer that builds barriers or a stuffer that Collects Retaliation Rocks? Are you an exploder that Blames Others or and exploder that Shames Herself? In this powerful devotional, Lysa provides with daily devotions that begin with a verse of scripture, a daily quote then a story from her own personal life that pertains to that day’s devotion and a closing prayer.

This devotional was written for us to experience peace and calmness in all of our relationships. Lysa’s desire for us is to:

  • Live in the grace of making imperfect progress even on those days when your emotions throw you for a loo.
  • Be a more positive role model to your family and coworkers as you shift from overreacting to speaking life-giving words.
  • Know with confidence how to resolve conflict in your closest relationships.

Lysa is a very powerful speaker and author and I admire her for being the woman that God has called her to be. This devotional really made me see just how my much my emotions were taking over my life, my relationships, and most importantly my walk with God. I highly recommend this devotional to all, you can read it alone or use it with Unglued.
