About the Book:

The enemy wants us to feel rejected . . . left out, lonely, and less than.
In Uninvited, Lysa shares her own deeply personal experiences of rejection–from the perceived judgment of the perfectly toned woman one elliptical over to the incredibly painful childhood abandonment by her father. She leans in to honestly examine the roots of rejection, as well as rejection’s ability to poison relationships from the inside out, including our relationship with God.

With biblical depth, gut-honest vulnerability, and refreshing wit, Lysa will help you:

• Stop feeling left out by believing that even when you are overlooked by others you are handpicked by God.
• Change your tendency to either fall apart or control the actions of others by embracing God-honoring ways to process your hurt.
• Know exactly what to pray for the next ten days to steady your soul and restore your confidence in the midst of rejection.
• Overcome the two core fears that feed your insecurities by understanding the secret of belonging.

Uninvited reminds us we are destined for a love that can never be diminished, tarnished, shaken, or taken–a love that does not reject or uninvite.

My Review:

Lysa TerKeurst has written many powerful books for women. Her newest best seller is Uninvited: Living Loved When You Feel Less Than, Left Out, and Lonely. This is one of those step on your toes, go through 3 highlighters, 3 pens, and 2 journals full of notes kind of book.

I honestly can’t count how many times I have felt rejected, left out and lonely. Reading Uninvited I was happy to know that I wasn’t the only who ever felt this way. Wanting to kick the enemy to the curb and take back my life is exactly the instruction you will receive from Uninvited. There are so many quotes you will find yourself writing down and using every day to fight the rejection. One of those is “Rejection steals the best of who I am by reinforcing the worst of what’s been said to me. Rejection isn’t just an emotion we feel. It’s a message that’s sent to the core of who we are, causing us to believe lies about ourselves, and God.” The enemy tries every way to get us to turn away from God and we can’t let him when.
I really learned so much from this book and I definitely recommend this book to everyone. If you want to dig deeper, there is also a study guide and DVD available. Take the next step to getting over rejection and telling the enemy to leave you alone. Pick up a copy of Uninvited today.

I received a copy of this book for free. A favorable review was not required and all opinions expressed here are my own.

  1. So often we poison our relationship with God because we even a subconscious level think God is like man and don’t expect his blessings and such. This sounds like a great read so we as Christians don’t let our past hurt our relationship with God and others.
